Everyone's an expert these days, but not everyone's got the bruises to prove it.
David Tzemach writes about what actually happens when AI meets real delivery teams, pulled from 20+ years running engineering orgs and four books on agile quality and metrics.

AI-era deliveryA 3-to-4-Week Feature Shipped in One. Can Product Keep Up?
Product used to get the blame when deadlines slipped. With agents in the delivery process, I see the roles starting to flip: a feature that would have taken 3 to 4 weeks was done in one, and most of the product groups I know are not keeping up. I changed how requirements are written and added an engineering agent that checks them against the code, and the hardest part was getting people to work that way.
Quality & measurement in the AI eraHow to plan your regression suite so it doesn't rot
A regression suite only protects you if someone decides what goes in, what stays and what gets deleted. Organize tests by system functionality, not by story, and review the suite on a schedule using return on investment.
Quality & measurement in the AI eraWe set a bug limit. The bugs disappeared. The problems didn't.
When we limited the number of open bugs per team, the teams found creative ways to stay out of the report, starting with filing tasks instead of bugs. The number looked better while the product did not. Two rules came out of it: a metric nobody understands will be worked around, and every metric needs a process behind it that helps the team that misses it.
